was a member of the USGA Rules Department from 2003 to 2009. During the first two years of his tenure, David was a Rules of Golf Associate answering thousands of phone calls and e-mails from golfers, golf professionals, and others interested in learning or complaining about the Rules of Golf. From 2005 to 2009 David worked with John on the writing of the Rules of Golf. David now resides in Boise, Idaho with his wife and dog who both know more about the Rules of Golf than the average golfer.
was on the staff of the USGA's Rules Department for 17 years, serving as Director, Rules of Golf for the latter half of that time. He was intimately involved in the Rules-change process with the Rules of Golf Committees of the R&A and USGA from 1996 -2010. He is now the Competitions Director at Erin Hills, site of the 2017 U.S. Open, outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
